The isolated representation of birds and flowers is known in traditional Persian art as "Gol o Morgh". In this famous design the protagonists resemble two lovers in the midst of a romantic argument in which the bird is in love and the flower is its lover; such romantic arguments have been mentioned very often in Persian literature.
