Wooden mirror decorated with enameled Persian miniature of "gol o morgh" (flower and birds), lighting (tazhib) and marquetry (khatam kari)

Rectangular wooden mirror measuring 34 x 28 cm, hand-crafted and painted, elegantly combining several traditional arts in a single piece.

The corners of the frame feature miniature painting with beautiful gilded designs created using the delicate technique of illumination or "tazhib" and the sides feature bright and colourful traditional enamelled relief designs of "gol o morgh" (flowers and birds).
In this famous design the protagonists resemble two lovers in the middle of a romantic argument where the bird is in love and the flower is its lover; such romantic arguments have been mentioned very often in Persian literature.

The edges are decorated with the laborious technique of "khatam kari" (marquetry), which gives a special shine and an exquisite finish to the whole.
