Original 29x17 cm bag hand-woven in various shades, among which turquoise stands out with the motifs and technique of "Soozan Doozi", the traditional sewing technique of Baluchistan. Its elegant chain and metal clasp, as well as the beautiful inner lining, give a sophisticated touch to the set.
This delicate art has been handcrafted for centuries in southeastern Persia (specifically in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan) by the Baluchi ethnic group and is one of the most well-known and valued crafts, commonly used to decorate clothing and jewelry. This group of Persian origin is mainly dedicated to agriculture and semi-nomadic herding but also to the making of carpets and the sewing of embroidery with traditional designs and bright colors.
Its importance is reflected in its inclusion in the List of National Heritage of Persia and in the certificate of originality awarded by UNESCO to this beautiful art, which flourished under the Timurid and Safavid empires. The technique is transmitted from generation to generation as the Baluchis are deeply rooted in their ancestral culture and like to wear traditional clothes. The most predominant motifs are geometric, especially squares and triangles, as well as diamonds or four- and eight-petalled flowers, and we can find several different styles of embroidery.
Baluchi clothing is classified as the most expensive traditional women's clothing in Persia due to its hand embroidery, which can take between six months and a year and a half to make, speaking only of a dress with its corresponding accessories.
