29x17 cm hand-woven bag in bright and cheerful colours with the motifs and technique of "Soozan Doozi". Its elegant chain and metal clasp, as well as the beautiful inner lining, give a sophisticated touch to the whole. This delicate art has been hand-made for centuries by the Baluchi ethnic group and is one of the most well-known and valued crafts, usually used to decorate clothing and jewellery. This group of Persian origin is mainly dedicated to agriculture and semi-nomadic herding but also to the making of carpets and the sewing of embroidery with traditional designs and bright colours.
Its importance is reflected in its inclusion in the National Heritage List and in the certificate of originality awarded by UNESCO to this beautiful art, which flourished under the Timurid and Safavid empires. The technique is passed down from generation to generation as the Baluchis are deeply rooted in their ancestral culture and like to wear traditional clothes. The most predominant motifs are geometric, especially squares and triangles, as well as diamonds or four- and eight-petalled flowers, and we can find several different styles of embroidery.
Baluchi clothing is classified among Persians as the most expensive traditional women's clothing due to its hand-embroidered design, which can take approximately six months to a year and a half to make, speaking only of a dress with its corresponding accessories.
